This is a selection of some of the many CTO, postally used and mint stamps I have showing butterflies and other insects. Everything listed here is fine used or CTO, except where it is described as mint. The postally used stamps have been specially selected for light postmarks, which sometimes means rejecting around four fifths of the stamps available, so that you get the very best. The postmarks will vary from the one in the picture, and you are welcome to a refund if the stamp is not what you expected. The mint stamps are all unmounted.
If you are especially looking for stamps to fill gaps in your collection, please email me c/o alisonlever@yahoo.co.uk, and I will see if I have them. There is a longer list of stamps showing butterflies and other insects available by email.

Great Britain
1981 Butterflies
Shown here is a classic set of four native British butterflies, the Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell, Large Blue and Chequered Skipper. The first two butterflies are especially attracted to buddleias, and their caterpillars like to eat nettles, so you can encourage them in your garden by keeping a nettle patch and growing buddleias (also called 'butterfly bushes'.) Nettles are good for making compost too. Large Blues are feared extinct, while Chequered Skippers are mainly found in Scotland.

Would
you like to buy some stamps?
Ordering stamps:
To order stamps, just email me alisonlever @ yahoo.co.uk and let me know what you want. I'll answer as soon as possible. This may not be the same day, but you do get personal service, and I am happy to search for stamps on just about any theme. There are a lot more stamps in stock than is possible to show here, so it's worth asking about your particular interest.
Please allow £0.95 (95p) if you come from anywhere in Europe, and £1.50 if orders are to be sent elsewhere. The postage charge is the same however many stamps you buy. This means that it's cheaper to buy more than one stamp, because the cost of packaging and postage is less per stamp. This reflects the time spent ensuring that the stamps are packed so that they arrive to you safely - it takes about the same time for one stamp as for larger orders.
Your stamps will be sent as soon as I receive payment. You can return the stamps and obtain a refund if they are not what you expected. Paypal is preferred, though other forms of payment can be negotiated. Euros are welcome as well as pound sterling.
